Q
I have a MySQL database on another server. I need
to put it into my govip account. I didn't find any appropriate
feature in Cpanel, which only allows me to create/manage
database and users, or run scripts. How can I do that? |

A
On the server that currently hosts the MySQL database, you can
back it up through Cpanel (If the server is Cpanel based). (See
Q.03 above), and upload it through our Cpanel to your account
with
goviphosting.com.
Otherwise here's how to upload your current database to your new goviphosting.com.
account:
1. FTP your database.sql file to your new goviphosting.com.
account
2. Login to Cpanel and create a database.
3. Create a new user and add him to the database you just
created in Step #2
4. Login via SSH, and run:
mysql -u DB_username -p DB_password Database_name < database.sql
Alternatively, we can do all of this for you if you tell us your
old host's username and password so we can login and grab the
database from there and install it on your new goviphosting.com
account. To do this, please send all the relevant info,
including old hosts IP, username, password, database name and
database username/password via help desk.
